The Australasian New Car Assessment Program (ANCAP) has awarded the all-new 12th generation Toyota Corolla hatchback with a 5-star safety rating, applicable to all petrol and hybrid versions sold in Australia and New Zealand.
Toyota Corolla, which is also Australia’s most popular passenger car scored 96% for adult occupant protection, 83% for child occupant protection, 86% for vulnerable road user protection and 76% for safety assist. The new Corolla managed a perfect 8/8 on both the side impact and oblique pole tests, along with 7.31 score for frontal offset and 7.57 for full-width frontal impacts.
Standard safety equipment on all variants of the new Corolla hatchback include 7 airbags (front, side, curtain and driver’s knee), autonomous emergency braking (AEB), lane keep assist system (LKAS) and lane departure warning (LDA).
